Maria Thrasivoulou

I am a qualified psychotherapist and an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am currently working at the University of Nottingham as a psychotherapist and as a lecturer in Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Derby.
I have completed a Bachelors of Science in Psychology, Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma and Masters in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Derby.
I work as an integrative therapist using 4 different modalities: Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Person Centred Approach, Attachment-based Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy. Being an integrative therapist allows me to tailor interventions and modalities to meet your individual needs.
I undergo regular clinical supervision and follow the BACP Ethical Framework.
I have many years of experience in working with adults and young people. In the past I have worked as a School Counsellor in a secondary school, provided counselling support via NHS Talking Therapies and eating disorder charity. I currently provide therapy to healthcare professionals and medical students.
